Dust Collectors

Controlling the dust and debris in your workshop is critical to maintain a safe and healthy workspace, not only to prevent tripping and slipping hazards but for your respiratory health as well. Selecting a dust collector can be intimidating as there are so many different dust collectors on the market today. Before making your buying decision there are a few things you should consider before you make that investment. The first question to consider is how many machines or tools you plan on having hooked up to your dust collector and how many of these tools will be operating at the same time. Next determine the maximum CFM requirement of the tool or tools added together if you are planning on running multiple machines at the same time. Once you have a final CFM number, you need to determine what the maximum distance from where the dust collector resides to the furthest tool. Now determine how many blast gates, elbows, Y or T connectors you plan on having between these tools. Once you are armed with this information, it is much easier to decide on the dust collector best suited for your requirements. Feel free to call our stores or talk to one of our industrial sales representatives if you would like some assistance on sizing your dust collector requirements.
