How does Adam’s Free Shipping Work?

Please note: With the world economy under extra pressures, shipping times may be affected.  We will make every effort to ship your order the next business day but issues outside our control may adversely affect your shipping times.

Adam’s Tarp & Tool offers Free Shipping on invoices that are over $99 before tax and under 50lb to almost any location in Canada. The Adam’s Tarp & Tool free shipping offer is valid for online sales only and excludes phone orders, orders taken in store, deliveries to rural or remote locations (Beyond Destination for Couriers). Oversized orders that common couriers deem to be too large or require freight trucks or oversized vehicles to deliver also do not qualify for free shipping. In cases where common couriers deem orders to be too large, we will contact you with a price estimate which will have the free shipping amount deducted from our freight quote to ensure you get the best shipping price available. In the event you need to ship a large oversized order we will contact our freight companies and provide you shipping based on our reduced rates.

*If you live in a remote rural location, or are purchasing heavy/oversized items, we cannot extend free shipping, but we will reduce your shipping cost by the free shipping value to ensure the best price possible.

1. Do you ship to the Unites States?

We can ship to the United States. Note, regional restrictions/regulations apply. Adam’s Tarp & Tool is NOT responsible for any duties or brokerage fees required for delivery of your order. Any associated fees are due upon the delivery of your order. All International orders must be purchased online and all sales are final.

A docking fee may be applied to an order that is delayed due to arrangement or payment of taxes. In some instances we may require a deposit, prior to shipping, for possible docking fees. In these cases you will be contacted in advance of the order’s shipment.

In the event the international shipment is refused, Adam’s Tarp & Tool reserves the right to refund the amount of the order, less shipping, duties, brokerage and payment processing fees associated with the order. Returned international orders are subject to an additional 15% restocking fee.

All orders are charged in Canadian Dollars. Exchange rates and international order fees are assessed and applied by your financial institution.

2. Why are ladders so expensive to ship?

Unfortunately couriers quote freight as a cube, which puts ladders, even small ones in a category that makes them way too expensive to ship by normal means. There are discounts available by transport companies when products can be shipped by standard skids size, but ladders rarely meet this criteria.

3. Why did my order go through with free shipping but I was contacted afterwards with additional freight costs?

Though we make every effort to be as accurate with shipping as possible it is difficult to gather real time accurate shipping costs from couriers automated software. The shipping estimating tool is a courier tool that has been leased to our website and in many cases prices change once we submit your package for pickup. When this happens, we understand how frustrating this can be, so we discount shipping quote by the value of our free shipping offer to ensure you get the best price possible.

4. Why do items not show me a cost to ship?

In order to see shipping prices, you need to be signed into your Adam’s account with a valid shipping address. Our shipping estimating tool requires valid shipping information to provide estimates and without an account your cart will not update accordingly.

5. Why do I only see pick up in store as a shipping option?

Sometimes, due to product dimensions or weight, we are unable to automatically generate shipping estimates and some couriers will not provide delivery services. Should this happen and you are unable to pick up your purchase in store, you can select the “Contact us to get a shipping quote” option and press the Request a Quote button. This will send your address information as well as the order details to our web department who will then research a custom quote specifically for you.

6. Why does the automated shipping price sometimes seem too high?

Sometimes our automated shipping system may not provide the most accurate quote. If you feel this is the case, there’s a solution that could save you money. First, make sure you’ve signed up for an account on our website. Then, add the items you’re interested in to your cart. Once they’re in your cart, look for the “Click Here To Request Shipping Quote” link located below the shipping quotes. Clicking this link will save your order and notify our team to generate a custom shipping quote based on your shipping address. We’ll compare rates from different carriers to find you the best deal, and update your order accordingly. This ensures you’re only paying the most accurate and affordable shipping cost.
