The Flexcut FR401 #5 x 9/16″ (14mm) fixed handled chisel has been manufactured with a solid ash handle and a high carbon steel chisel. The Flexcut FR401 has a fixed handle version allows for faster tool changes over the unhandled tools which need to be used with an interchangeable handle and converted for each application. The Flexcut FR401 is made of high carbon spring steel, the tool shank gives just enough to follow the contour of carving. This unique material also contributes to its excellent edge holding capability as the shank is tempered like a spring while the tip is hardened to Rc 59-61, then hand honed and polished.
