How does Adam’s Free Shipping Work?

Adam’s Tarp & Tool offers Free Shipping on online orders over $149 before tax and under 50 lbs to almost any location in Canada.
Free shipping:
- Applies to online orders only
- Does not apply to phone orders or in-store purchases
- Does not apply to rural or remote locations (Beyond Destination for Couriers)
- Does not apply to oversized or freight-only items
Oversized items or orders that couriers deem too large for standard delivery (or that require freight trucks or oversized vehicles) do not qualify for free shipping. In these cases, we will contact you with a freight quote. The value of our free shipping offer will be deducted from the freight cost to ensure you receive the best shipping price available.
If you need to ship a large or oversized order, we will work with our freight partners and provide shipping based on our reduced commercial rates.
*If you live in a rural or remote location, or are purchasing heavy or oversized items, free shipping may not apply. However, we will reduce your shipping cost by the free shipping value to ensure the best price possible.

No — we do not ship to the U.S.
2. Why are ladders so expensive to ship?
Couriers calculate freight based on dimensional size (cube), not just weight. Because of their length, ladders—even smaller ones—fall into a freight category that makes them expensive to ship using standard courier services. Discounts are available when items fit standard skid sizes, but ladders rarely meet these requirements.
3. Why did my order go through with free shipping but I was contacted afterwards with additional freight costs?
While we strive for accuracy, real-time courier pricing can be difficult to obtain through automated systems. In some cases, courier costs change once a shipment is submitted for pickup.
When this happens, we understand how frustrating it can be. To help, we deduct the value of our free shipping offer from the final freight quote, ensuring you receive the best price possible.
4. Why do items not show me a cost to ship?
To see shipping prices, you must be logged into your Adam’s account with a valid shipping address. Our shipping calculator requires accurate address information to generate estimates. Without an account, shipping costs may not appear in your cart.
5. Why do I only see pick up in store as a shipping option?
Some items are too large, heavy, or irregularly shaped for couriers to automatically generate shipping estimates. In these cases, delivery may not be available through standard shipping methods.
If you are unable to pick up your order in store, select “Contact us to get a shipping quote” and click Request a Quote. This sends your order details and address to our team, who will research a custom shipping solution for you.
6. Why does the automated shipping price sometimes seem too high?
Automated shipping systems do not always provide the most accurate or cost-effective rate. If a shipping quote seems high:
- Make sure you are logged into your Adam’s account
- Add the items to your cart
- Click the “Request Shipping Quote” link below the shipping estimates
This will notify our team to manually compare carrier rates and update your order with the most accurate and affordable shipping option available.
